Materials needed:

Color A: 1 3 oz skein worsted weight light or dark acrylic yarn

Color B: 1 3 oz. skein worsted opposite (light or dark) variegated yarn. ( Use light variegated with

Dark main color, etc)

Size 8 16” circular needle

Large eye yarn needle

Purse Handles

With color A cast on 33sts. K1, P1 for 2 ¼ “

With Color A, knit across the 33 sts, pick up and knit 7 sts on short side, 33 sts on opposite long side and 7 sts. on short side. Place marker.(80 sts)

Knit 3 rows in the round

Pattern 1:

Rows 1-4: Attach B, K4 A, K 4 B around

Knit 2 rows with A increasing 4 sts in second round (84 sts)

Row 1: *K5A, 1B, 4A, 2B* repeat

Row 2: *K4A, 2B, 4A, 2B*

Row 3: *K3A, 3B, 3A, 1B, 2A*

Row 4: *K2A, 4B, 2A, 1B, 3A*

Row 5: *1A, 5B, 1A, 1B, 4A*

Row 6: *1A, 4B, 1A, 1B, 5A*

Row 7: *1A, 3B, 1A, 1B, 1A, 5B*

Row 8: *1A, 2B, 1A, 1B, 1A, 5B, 1A*

Row 9: *1A, 1B, 1A, 1B, 1A, 5B, 2A*

Row 10: *2A, 1B, 1A, 5B, 3A*

Row 11: *1A,1B, 1A, 5B, 4A*

Row 12: *Knit with A

Row 13: Knit with B

Row 14: Knit with A
Row 15: Repeat row 11

Row 16: *K2 A, 1B, 1A, 5B, 3A*

Row 17: *K1A, 1B, 1A, 1B, 1A, K5B, 2A*

Row 18: *K1A, 2B, 1A, 1B, 1A, 5B, 1A*

Row 19: *K1A, 3B, 1A, 1B, 1A, 5B*

Row 20: *K1A, 4B, 1A, 1B, 5A*

Row 21: *K1A, 5B, 1A, 1B, 4A*

Row 22: *K2 A, 4B, 2A, 1B, K3A*

Row 23: *K3A, 3B, 3A, 1B, 2A*

Row 24: K4A, 2B, 4A, 2B*

Row 25: K5A, 1B, 4A, 2B*

Knit 2 rows with A decreasing 4sts on the last row.

Repeat the 4 rows of Pattern 1 and break off Color B

Knit 2 rows with Color A

Purse Top:

Rows 1 and 3: K1, P1

Row 2 and 4: P1, K1

Bind off next 7 sts . On next 33 sts only work K1, P1 for 1 ¼” and bind off. Fasten off yarn.

Reattach yarn at beginning of remaining sts. Bind off 7sts. On remaining 33sts. Work K1, P1 for 1 ¼” Bind off. Sew flaps onto handles. Line purse if desired.
