Fan and Feather Lace Fingerless Mitts

Materials:
about 2 ozs. Worsted Weight yarn
Size 6 double points or 29" circular needle for Magic Loop
Yarn
needle for weaving in ends
Left Mitt:
Cast on 36 sts. And join without twisting. Knit 1 row, Purl
1 row
Row 1: *K 2 tog 3 times, [YO, K1, 6 times], K2 tog 3 times, K2 P1- 6 times
Row 2, 3 and 4: K 18, K 2, P1 6 times
Repeat
rows 1-4 until piece measures approx. 4, 5" ending with row 4
Now work back and forth (NOT IN THE ROUND!!!)
Thumb opening
rows:
Row 1: same as row 1 above, turn
Row 2 and 4: K1, P2, 6 times, Purl 18, turn,
Row 3: Knit 18, K1, K2, P1-6
times , turn
Work row 1 - 4 once more.
On next row join back in the round and repeat rows 1-4 twice. Purl one row,
Knit 1 row. Bind off as if to purl
Right Mitt:
Work same as above changing pattern rows to:
Row
1: K2, P1 6 times, K2 tog - 3 times, [YO, K1 6 times], K 2 tog 3 times
Row 2, 3 and 4: K2, P1- 6 times, K 18
