A matching hat makes a great addition to your BBS.

Below are a few patterns to help you out.

This pattern was shared in the Forum Island Knitter was in.

 

Cast on 72 sts and knit about 3.5 - 4 inches in garter st. Continue in garter st to decrease as follows:

Row 1: K1, *k8, k2tog, rep from * to last st. K1.

Row 2 (and all even rows) Knit

Row 3: K1, *k7, k2tog, Rep from * to last st. K1

Continue decreasing in this way (1 st less between decreases) every RS row until 16 sts remain.

Next row: (RS) k1, (k2 tog) 7 times, k1.

Next row: (p2 tog, p1) three times

Next row: (k2 tog) 3 times.

Draw yarn through remaining sts and sew up hat. Make a pom-pom.
